Is there lead in your lipstick? Is your sunscreen safe?

The list goes on and on, everywhere you turn, there is something new that might be in something you use or exists in your personal environment. From phthalates to PVC, more and more evidence continues to be discovered that certain chemistries can pose health risks for some people.

Although many think of Green as being eco-friendly, others do not equate the concept of being Green to the chemistries of every day life. The concept of being Green vividly incorporates this awareness be it in household cleaners, organic soaps or lotions or food contact materials. In fact, just last week, the City of Chicago banned all baby bottles containing bisphenol-A (BPA).

No matter where your store is located, your staff is certain to come into contact with folks who have a heightened awareness of materials they do NOT want to see in the products they purchase. These are your Green consumers. Educate them. Nurture them. Their loyalty to retailers who “get it” is practically unwavering. That simple investment in the health, well being and trust of your Customer will pay off. There is no more meaningful way to gain the trust of your Customer.
